Dads in Arbor Company communities received extra special treatment on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 21. Team members in each community planned special events, meals, treats, and activities in honor of those residents who are fathers.

Here’s a roundup of a just a few of the special ways we honored dads in our communities:

The dads at Arbor Terrace at Citrus Park started their day with a gift from the “treat trolley” including printed Father’s Day greetings, an awesome back scratcher and giant, fresh-baked cookies. In the afternoon, a “Tailgate Car” delivered hot dogs, chips, soda, beer and various goodies while filling the hallways with 50s rock ‘n roll music. Packets of Father’s Day trivia, word search and crossword puzzles and other fun activities were handed out to residents throughout the day. For dinner, the residents enjoyed steak with shrimp, baked potatoes, seasonal vegetables and strawberry cheesecake!

At Arbor Terrace Johns Creek, the team planned a steak lunch and a selection of special English tea sandwiches. Staff delivered root beer floats in souvenir mugs to all dads in the community. The community also had a full day of scheduled slots for video and window visits for family and friends.

Arbor Terrace Roseland decorated the community’s delivery cart with banners and posters wishing residents a “Happy Father’s Day!” The team created “Remembering Dad” questionnaires that families can fill out and return along with a card. Each dad in the community also received a souvenir pen with four rotating “Dad sayings.” Residents enjoyed trivia games, word search, and puzzles about the origins of Father’s Day, along with a special lunch from the culinary team: grilled strip steak, stuffed sole with crab meat and scallops, spinach, hash browned potatoes, and of course, dessert!

Father’s Day was extra special at Arbor Terrace of Knoxville, where resident Jim also celebrated his birthday on the same day! Another resident, Gordon, enjoyed a giant Father’s Day sign posted outside his window by his daughter Kim.

The decorated snack cart will deliver special snacks such as donuts and coffee and Dad's root beer. Window visits and outdoor visits were scheduled throughout the day.

For Father’s Day weekend, The Solana East Cobb community kicked off the fun with a “Baseball and Brews” happy hour on Friday, then “Donuts for Dad” on Saturday, and finally, socially distanced outdoor family visits for Father’s Day on Sunday.

Father’s Day at Arbor Terrace Peachtree City kicked off the big day with a morning Inspirational Message for the Men via Zoom with a special guest. A sumptuous Father’s Day meal followed, featuring surf-and-turf and, by popular request, banana splits for dessert. In the afternoon, the team began Father’s Day cart service, delivering gift bags to all of the men in the community, each featuring a mug and card, and a sports trivia game for fun prizes, conducted safely in the hallway. The team decorated the cart especially for Father’s Day, with balloons and other festive items.

Father’s Day was a good day for Dads in our communities this year! Here’s hoping your celebration of Father’s Day was special too.
